We didn't know we were cabinet makers...

 The table is in, the benches are in and bear is ready for his first meal... well it is going to have to wait!  We are a little busy...

 

As you can see we built a cabinet in the back there.  It was much shorter on the original scotty but reading some different rebuilds I really liked the tall cabinet.  More storage!   Yeah!

Next Steve started on the kitchen sink cabinet.  This was a little more tricky.  We are going to use the old drawers and cabinet door so not everything is from scratch.  you can see to the left of the cabinet is the previous gaucho bench.  We didn't reinvent that wheel either. 

 

 

 Next we installed the previous upper cabinet out of the old one.  Again, it was  in decent shape so why not? 

Ahh yes... The microwave cabinet... oh there were curse words used during this construction.  Still not real sure how it will work but it is there and in and we are going to have to make it work.

Bad Blogger

Sometimes you get busy (lazy) and forget to post progress... well that is my story... so in an effort to catch up I am going overload ya with progress. After the sidewalls we started on the front and back.  This proved to be a challange because we are using screws this time around and trying to put a big enough screw in the side of plywood was quite trying. 

 

 

 

I couldn't wait to get my paint roller on that dark plywood... I like light and bright. 

 

We decided not to reinvent the wheel and go ahead and use the old benches.  They got several coats of paint and a set of new hinges.  They should hold up another 40 years now.

Yep, those newly covered cushions are going to look great in here!!
